Questions

Good to know

Short answers about Lou, custom builds, woods and getting in touch. Anything else, ask Ignacio in an enquiry.

What is Lou?

Lou is the first Llamas model: a six-string electric guitar designed for versatile sound and comfortable playability, with choices shaped around the musician.

Can I see photos of Lou?

Not yet. Lou will be shown here once it has been photographed. The photographs in Our work are of a Llamas eight-string custom build, and the builder uses a placeholder outline rather than Lou’s real shape.

Which woods can I choose for Lou?

Four parts, each from its own list:

  • Body Swamp Ash, Mahogany, Alder or Black Limba
  • Top Flamed Maple, Poplar Burl, Ficus or Swamp Ash
  • Neck (1pc) Mahogany, Walnut or Flamed Maple
  • Fretboard Ebony, Exotic Ebony, Rosewood, Walnut or Maple

You can try every combination in the builder and see it on the guitar.

What does “1pc neck” mean?

A one-piece neck: the neck is made from a single piece of wood. For Lou you can choose Mahogany, Walnut or Flamed Maple.

How does a custom build start?

Every Llamas guitar starts with a conversation with Ignacio about how you play and the instrument you have in mind. Together you explore the feel, sound and finish that suit your music. You can plan your Lou’s woods in the builder first and add them to your enquiry.

Can Llamas build something other than Lou?

The guitar in Our work is a Llamas eight-string custom build. If you have a different instrument in mind, describe it in an enquiry and Ignacio can tell you what’s possible.

How much does a Llamas guitar cost?

Prices aren’t published on the site. Send an enquiry with what you have in mind and Ignacio can talk you through it.

How long does a build take, and is Lou available now?

Build times and availability aren’t published on the site yet. Ask in your enquiry and Ignacio can let you know.

Who makes Llamas guitars?

Ignacio: musician, guitar maker, from Málaga. He brings his perspective as a musician and guitar maker to the instruments he creates.

Where does the name Llamas come from?

Llamas takes its name from Ignacio’s grandfather, honouring the family and resilience behind the brand.

How do I get in touch?

Use the enquiry form on this page: your name, email and message, plus your Lou build if you’ve used the builder. Llamas’ email and social channels will be listed once they’re confirmed.

Are my builder choices saved?

Yes, on this device only: they stay in your browser until you change them. You can add them to your enquiry so Ignacio sees exactly what you chose.
